About Benevolent Bytes

My name is Seth Corker, I’m a full-stack software engineer at Zego, this is my blog focusing on web development and other programming topics. I try and share what I know about the web and help others learn new things.

My web development blog originally started on Medium in 2015 as a publication called Deconstructured. Benevolent Bytes is the next iteration of my web development blog which is now self-hosted and powered by Ghost.

I was a software developer working for EndGame in Wellington, New Zealand, there I worked on lots of different projects with React and ASP.NET. Currently employed at Zego working with Python (Django) and JavaScript (React, Next.js) and GraphQL.

If you like Medium, take a look at the Benevolent Bytes publication on Medium instead.

I also publish to the DEV Community, check it out for a great community of like-minded devs, you’ll discover discussions and perhaps some work in progress findings.

I also created benevolent(self) on substack as an ongoing guide to staying healthy and productive as a developer. You’ll find tools on how avoid burnout and be a better professional.

A Fullstack Software Engineer working with React and Django. My main focus is JavaScript specialising in frontend UI with React. I like to explore different frameworks and technologies in my spare time. Learning languages (programming and real life) is a blast.
